The Link between the Lord's Supper and the Passover feast, as explained by Amir Tsafarti

This is one of the best explanations of the Passover feast I’ve heard—from a Messianic Jew and true brother in Christ!

Amir’s teaching is both theologically sound and firmly grounded in Scripture, especially when compared to the “rubbish” promoted by certain branches of the Hebraic Roots movement (HRM), which insist that believers must continue observing the Passover and other Old Testament feasts.

What stands out is how Amir draws a clear connection to the Lord’s Supper—the one tradition instituted by our Lord that truly points us back to the Passover Lamb who was sacrificed for us.

The reason neither Jesus nor the apostles commanded the Church to continue observing the seven feasts is because those feasts were shadows of what was to come. Their fulfillment is found in Christ, who is the substance.

Not once did the Lord command the Apostles to teach the church to observe all seven feasts, nor did Paul instruct any of the churches to do so.

As a matter of fact, Paul emphatically wrote:

“These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.” – Colossians 2:17

And in the book of Hebrews:

“For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never… make perfect those who draw near… For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.” – Hebrews 10:1–4

I thank God for this season, during which He led me to study biblical Hebrew, guided me through many of the false teachings circulated online, and opened my eyes to how some believers have been misled by proponents of Judaism infiltrating our churches—drawing people back to the 'shadow' rather than holding fast to the 'substance,' who is Christ.

This explanation by Amir—being both a Jew and a believer—has been a eureka moment for me. It sheds light on the central theme of Paul’s epistles and the book of Hebrews, which confront the same issue: the danger of returning to the old covenant shadows when we have the fullness of Christ.

Amir has explained it more clearly that I could ever do. I have not followed Amir Tsarfati's teachings, but with this one video, I fully concur with his explicit explanation about the Passover.

Let us be awakened and edified by this message from Amir!

This is a two-part video series recorded at Seremban Life Assembly, where I attempted to contextualise the preaching of book of Romans using the imagery of an ancient Chinese old man seated under a tree, engaging in a conversation with a young boy.

Replacement Theology, Hebraic Roots Movement and Fulfilment Theology

I recently had to respond to some arguments against replacement theology.

        1 Peter 2:19 reads:

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Apart from saying that the Church now refers to both the remnant of Jews and us Gentiles, saved by grace not by obeying the Mosaic Law, here is a good example how Chat GPT can help us respond to the refutations by those against replacement theology. You need to put your finger to stop the video as you read the commentary on what is known as the Hebraic Roots Movement (or HRM):

However, I am more inclined towards Fulfilment theology which Chat GPT has also provided a summary of it for your consumption.

Christ came as the Spotless Lamb of God to fulfil all the requirements of the Law. Our salvation which brings us to be at peace with God is the result of God’s grace and our response in faith.

Positionally we are now like Abraham, righteous before God as this cannot be removed from us if we hold on to our faith. The Lord will keep us with Him.

The seven feasts in the OT were a foreshadow of Christ who was to come. He is the ultimate fulfilment of all prophecies and what these feasts were supposed to depict.

Christ died the death of atonement as the Passover Lamb to be sacrificed on the Day of Atonement. We are the first fruits. The Lord Supper, which the Lord instituted, is only one of two so-called sacraments that Christ wants the body of Christ, the church comprising Jew and Gentiles, to keep until the day He returns.

The unbelieving Israel will be axed while we Gentiles are grafted. The basis for this is God’s Grace (His Initiative) and our faith (our only response that He requires).

Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved;”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭27‬ ‭NASB1995

We are now part of the body of Christ by His grace thorough out faith, not our obedience to the Torah. As Peter puts it,

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

In fact, it reminds us of Christ’s fulfilment of the Law, which clearly shows the Law is good, but we cannot fulfil ourselves due to our sinful nature. Yet, the Sinless One died to pay the debts on our behalf.

To us, this mystery has been revealed, something the prophets of old waited eagerly to see.

Praise the Lord for such a great gospel we have.

Whatever it is, we should thank God for this wonderful creation of AI, until of course, if it is hijacked by some bad guys to be used for the wrong purposes. We must also bear in mind that like any tool, AI can be use for good and bad.

Just like the printing invented by Johann Gutenberg, it was used extensively by cults such as the Jehovah Witnesses, the Mormons, and even the Communists in the last century.

We should not shy away from using technology given to use for the good of His kingdom work.
